POETIC INSIGHT: BLOOD IN MY EYES

BLOOD IN MY EYES

I’VE GOT BLOOD IN MY EYES,
CAUSE OF THE MANY ILLS I HAVE SEEN.
I’VE GOT SO MUCH BLOOD IN MY EYES,
THAT IT’S STRAINING MY ONCE PERFECT SIGHT.

EVERYTHING I SEE IS IN BLOOD RED;
CAUSE THIS WICKED WORLD IS FILLED WITH HATRED,
CORRUPTION AND UNQUENCHABLE GREED.

FROM ALL THE WICKEDNESS,
MY EYES BLEED.
AND GRADUALLY I’M LOOSING MY SIGHT,
CAUSE OUR NATIONS FINALLY LOST THEIR INSIGHT.

WHY THEN SHOULD I CONTINUE IN SIGHT?
AND CONSTANTLY BEHOLD THAT WHICH TAKES MY SIGHT.

FOR THIS MANY TAKE TO FLIGHT,
CAUSE WHAT IS SEEN BRINGS FRIGHT.
BUT I CHOOSE TO REMAIN AND WRITE.

AND IF TOMORROW I IN TURN TAKE TO FLIGHT,
IT SURELY WOULDN’T BE DUE TO THE FRIGHT,
BUT TO THE THIRST FOR A NEW HEIGHT.

THE TASTE OF FREEDOM,
FROM THAT WHICH SEEKS TO RUIN MY ONCE PERFECT SIGHT.
