Kwankwaso splashes N8.9m on Eaglets.

 
Engineer (Dr.) Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Executive Governor of Kano State,  Tuesday rewarded the two indigenes of the state in the Golden Eaglets, captain Musa Muhammad and defender Bello Zaharradine with houses, promising to name a street on their behalf at their preferred choice in Amana, Bandirawo or Kwankwasiyya city.

The Governor announced the package and a sum of N9.8 Million to the players; officials and accompanied NFF’s officials for winning a record fourth FIFA Under-17 World Cup in the UAE last month.

The sport-loving Governor who hosted the team at the Kano Government House alongside Kano Pillars for wining a back-to-back Premier League title; and the Kano Pillars Basketball team for winning the 2013 Dstv Championship, said the Golden Eaglets are pride of the continent for their exemplary conducted at the championship where they swept the stake with Kelechi Iheanacho emerging as the MVP, Dele Alampasu with the Golden Gloves and the overall Fair Play Award.

At the ceremony were top government officials in the state; Alh. Abbas Sanusi( Wambai Kano) who represented the Emir of Kano; the President of the NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari as well as board members; Hon. Suleiman Kwande, Alh. Yusuf Ahmed Fresh, Dr. Shehu Adamu and Dr. Muhammed Sanusi-Head of competitions at the NFF.

Maigari led- NFF in the outgoing Year 2013 particularly with the sterling performance of the Golden Eaglets at the World Cup.

Speaking on the Golden Eaglets, Governor Kwankwaso said the state was duty-bound to host the team since the captain; Muhammed and Bello who were fulcrum of the team that won the championship in the UAE are indigene of the state.
