An angry father, Deji Kamoru, is in trouble for throwing his 14-year old daughter, Aishat, from their three-storey building home after he caught her with her boyfriend in his bedroom.

In annoyance, he allegedly tied Aishat’s hands, tortured her and threw her from the third floor of their house at Oroyinyin Street, Lagos Island, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

The Benue Government on Friday said that the cholera outbreak recorded in the state a few days ago has claimed eight lives.

The Commissioner for Health and Human Services in the state, Orduen Abunku, made the announcement while speaking to journalists in Makurdi, the state capital.
Mr. Abunku said that 240 people had been diagnosed with the disease and were currently being treated. A community in the state, Wadata, had witnessed an outbreak of the disease.

CBN Governor Lamido Sanusi states that $20 billion received by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), from sales of crude oil between January 2012 and July 2013, is still missing.
In this seven-page document submitted to the Senate, Sanusi explains he is determined to present detailed evidence that NNPC has, in violation of the law and constitution, been diverting money from the Federation Account.
He has established the following:

By paying the 'kerosene subsidy,' the NNPC has confessed to a number of serious infractions, as kerosene is not a subsidised product; President Yar'Adua had issued a presidential directive eliminating this subsidy payment as from July, 2009; these losses inflicted on the Federation Account have not been appropriated.
Claims by NNPC of spending the money on PMS subsidy are not credible.
As NNPC's disclosed it shipped $6b worth of crude oil on behalf of NPDC, at least a part of this amount is due to the Federation Account. This part relates to oil produced from blocks operated under 'Strategic Alliance Agreement,' and Sanusi says these agreements merely serve to transfer revenue due to the Federation to private hands.
Additionally, Sanusi suggested his analysis of the crude-for-refined-product swap contracts entered into by PPMC and indicated where, according to him, Nigeria is losing money in these transactions. continue after cut...

In a Facebook post released this afternoon, Emelonye said a private chat he had with someone was used against him. He explained that he was misquoted by the writers of the story.

According to him, he holds Genevieve and Omotola in high esteem, having featured the two of them in his movies.

Emelonye disclosed that he has contacted the duo to apologise for the comments.

Nollywood Producer, Chike Bryan Needs N10m For Kidney Transplant Abroad

President of the Script Writers Guild of Nigeria, Chike Bryan is presently in need of about N10million to undergo a kidney transplant abroad in order to survive.

The Nollywood icon has been down since July 2013 and his two kidneys, according to reports, are gone. For some months now, he has been on dialysis.

His doctors have informed him to quickly go for a kidney transplant in India in order to live a normal life again and he reportedly needs N10million for that.

Calls have now been made to well meaning Nigerians to save his life.

Operatives of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Lagos have arrested former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Alhaja Sinatu Aderoju Ojikutu. The former Lagos State number two citizen was apprehended yesterday at her residence in Lagos Island.

She was declared wanted by the police in 2013 in connection with an alleged N130 million land scam.

Conducted by the University of California, Amie Gordon and Serena Chen found that just one night’s poor sleep can damage your relationship.

In the research, reported Psyblog, 78 couples were tracked over a two-week period. Each day the couples were asked to make notes about their sleep quality and any arguments they’d had with their partners that day. The results showed that even for those who were good sleepers, just a single night’s poor sleep showed an increase in arguments and conflict the next day.

“For the first time, to our knowledge, we can see the process of how the nature, degree, and resolution of conflict are negatively impacted by poor sleep,” said Chen, a professor of psychology at UC Berkeley.

In a message sent through her Facebook page on Monday, the pretty fast rising actress said she is very much alive and bubbling at the movie set of Tchidi Chikere in Enugu, southeast Nigeria.
