The World's First 3D-Printed Gun

The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, UK has acquired two models of the world's first 3D-printed gun.
The 'Liberator' pistol is the invention of Cody Wilson, a Texan law student whose company Defence Distributed caused a furore in May when it made blueprints for its firearm freely available on the internet.

POETIC INSIGHT -005

‘NEATH
UNDERNEATH THIS SKIN OF CLAY;
UNDERNEATH THESE SMILES SO UNTRUE,
A HEART IN GLOOM.

A SOUL IMPRISONED BY MORALITY.
LOCKED UP BY THE NORMS OF CHRISTIANITY,
GRADUALLY LEADING TOWARDS INSANITY.
MAROONED WITH THOUGHTS OF HEAVEN,
 ATTRACTED BY THE WAYS OF HELL.

UNDERNEATH THIS PRETENCIOUS SELF;
A SOUL SCREAMING OUT FOR HELP,
CRAVING FOR A NEW AND BETTER STORY.
TIRED OF THE OLD AND ALL ITS VANITY.

UNDERNEATH THIS FLAMBOUYANT SHOW;
A SOUL IN COMPLETE DISARRAY.
IN SCREAMS OF FRUSTRATION;
IN SEARCH OF DIVINE INSPIRATION,
YEARNINGS FOR REDEMPTION PORTRAYED.

UNDERNEATH THIS SLY LAUGHTER;
ECHOES OF PAIN AND INTENSE ANGER,
A BATTLE ENSHROUDS;
THE OBVIOUS BATTLE OF GOOD AND EVIL.
ENSHROUDS
UNDERNEATH THIS SKIN OF CLAY.

BEYOND OUR HORIZONS.

Space exploration has indeed changed the way we live our daily lives. As Lyndon. B. Johnson rightly pointed out: “ the moon trip is just one of the many goals of space exploration”.  “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind’’. These were the words of Neil A. Armstrong on July 20th, 1969, as he became the first person to step on the moon.

"12 Years A Slave"; why you should go see this movie.

The release of "12 Years a Slave" is something of a major historical-cultural event in the US, being that Slavery is the most abhorrent chapter in America's history. The film, which opens Friday with an A-list cast—Nigeria’s own; Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt--is based on the memoir of Solomon Northup, a free black man kidnapped in 1841 in Washington and sold into slavery in New Orleans. Uncompromising and extremely violent, "12 Years" refuses to downplay the racism, brutality and crude Darwinian mind-set that typified the "peculiar institution."
