Mercy Johnson Okojie: Narrates Her Journey To Stardom

In an interview with Saturday Tribune, Mercy Johnson Okojie opens up about life before the fame, money and marriage. She talks about how she once lived in an uncompleted building and how she was inspired to start acting after watching one of Genevieve Nnaji's movies. Excerpt below...

Sometimes when I cry in movies, it isn't the script that makes me cry. When I recall my humble beginning, I give thanks to God. When I remember how we moved into an uncompleted building and had to take cover whenever it rained because of the condition of the house; how my brother did a menial job as a bricklayer to earn a living and those days when we rolled over a stick to cover the windows up till the point when I started acting and raised money to cover the roof… I recall those days we were living with lizards because the floor and the walls of the house were not plastered, or when I had scars as a result of my several falls.”

CRISIS LOOMS IN APC -IS TB JOSHUA’S PROPHECY ALREADY COMING TO PASS?

I awoke yesterday to discover the following headline on Nigeria’s Saturday Punch newspaper, ‘Crisis Looms In APC Over Power Sharing’. A brief summary of the contents within is that “the five governors, who defected to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party, were locked in a supremacy battle with some leaders of the three political parties that merged to form the APC.” Although this news is not all that surprising to those with any historical knowledge of and insight in Nigerian politics, what struck me on a personal note was the proximity of this information to the recent prophetic message delivered by Prophet T.B. Joshua, a clergyman for whom my respect is steadily deepening. “There will be a leadership tussle on who will lead and who will be presidential candidate in APC which will affect them as a political party,” Joshua had told his congregation during their New Year service. “They should be vigilant. Many are with them in flesh but not with them in spirit.”

“Why Toke Makinwa & I Had To Part Ways” – Maje Ayida.

Lagos Big Boy and CEO of Eden Lifestyle, Maje Ayida has revealed why he had to call off the 12-year relationship with on-air personality Toke Makinwa. In an interview he granted ThisDay newspaper, he said;

“I write a lot of stuff on social media. Some about me, some about life, maybe something I saw, maybe someone else’s experience, maybe my mood at the time. The idea is that someone somewhere may be feeling that same thing. Sort of like the comfort you get on knowing that you’re not alone when you hear a song that speaks what you feel. One thing I will say just as a general life tip, ‘don’t make permanent decisions based on temporary feelings.’ (not my words).I’m like the United Nations.
