A 29-year-old
Indian, Singu Amanpreet, who was stranded on the high sea in the Lagos, was
yesterday rescued by the anti-crime unit of Marine Police.
He was said to be
aboard his vessel, MSC Monica, that left Tin Can Island Port, Lagos, yesterday,
at 1a.m. and for over four hours, the vessel was floating on the sea.
An alarm was said
to have been sent to policemen attached to the marine section, which rescued
the Indian and took him to the Military hospital for medical attention.
Speaking later
from his hospital bed, the Indian said he was in the sea for over five hours
and if not for the timely intervention of the Marine Police, he would have died
there.
