EVERYBODY HURTS
IT WAS COLD BUT THERE YOU WHERE SWEATING
TEARS,
CUDDLED UP IN THE ARM CHAIR DEEP IN TEARS;
ONE LOOK AT YOU, I COULD TELL IT HURT.
I COULD SEE YOUR PAINS SOURCE,
I COULD SEE YOUR PAIN WAS LOVE.
YOU SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG;
YOU SINCERELY TOLD WHAT HE DID WRONG.
CONFIDING IN ME THAT DAY FELT STRANGE;
CAUSE
IT MADE ME REALISE HOW MUCH MY PAIN HAD AGED.
I TOLD YOU OF MY ALREADY AGED PAIN;
YOU SAID “I’M SORRY”, AND BEGAN CRYING
AGAIN.
I SAT BESIDE YOU DEEP IN THOUGHT,
OF YOU AND HOW BEST TO COMFORT.
WHEN ON MY HAND AND HEART I FELT A TOUCH;
YOUR SOFT HAND IT WAS, THAT TOUCHED MY
HAND,
BUT YOUR SOFT HEART IT WAS, THAT TOUCHED
MY HEART.
IT’S BEEN MONTHS SINCE WE FIRST MET,
AND WHAT I TOLD YOU THEN, I’LL TELL YOU
NOW;
BE STRONG, WIPE YOUR TEARS AND KEEP YOUR
HEAD UP.
BECAUSE WHEN IT COMES TO LOVE,
EVERYBODY HURTS.
