In Future's eyes, Ciara has many, if not all, of the same characteristics and attitude as him.
"I just didn't want to go through life thinking I have to sleep with a lot of women to get where I need to go," Future explained in an interview when asked about his engagement. "Or to feel like my ego was something. I feel like the balance in life is embracing your fears and sometimes your fears might be, 'Man, if I don't have all these women, if I don't wake up with a different woman every night then I'm not the person I should be. I might not be the person or I might not be the man I want to be.' But it's really not that true. You can find someone that you want to be with and work and you can focus on a more long-term goal and that's just being successful forever. We understand each other. She's like the female version of me. [She's] very competitive, very ambitious, very self-driven and that's what she is." (Fuse News)
Last month, Future spoke on their relationship and what would ultimately keep them together for the long haul.
Future recently stopped by BET's 106 & Park to talk about his experiences on the "Would You Like a Tour?" with Drake and his relationship with singer and new fiancé Ciara. Later on co-host Keshia Chanté asks Future about how he and Ciara balance their personal life as a power couple who always have a spotlight on them.
"Personally, we like to be chill to ourself without anybody extra in our business," he says. "It's going to happen, naturally. They going to find out certain things, certain things they going to speculate about. The most important thing, as long as me and her are on the same page and we happy, that's all that matters." Although they have shared an intimate public relationship for nearly a year, Future recently said even CiCi was surprised at his proposal.
"I feel different but it's great," Future told MTV News of being engaged.
"It's a great situation and I'm happy about it. I'm excited about it and I know she's super happy. I just feel good to be able to make someone happy."
The 29-year-old popped the question during Ciara's birthday weekend and explained that it had been a long time in the making, but she still didn't see it coming.
"She was definitely surprised," he said. "I've been planning it for a minute, I took some time, I really thought about the ring, I was just taking my time with it because I wanted it to be special for her." (MTV) According to reports, jewelry designer company Avianne & Co's responsible for the 15-carat eye candy.
Kim Kardashian isn't the only A-lister with a 15-carat diamond engagement ring! The reality star's BFF Ciara has one, too, courtesy of rapper/producer Future. E! News has the exclusive first look at the singer's bling, which she received this weekend while celebrating her 28th birthday in New York City. "The ring, which doubled as a special birthday gift, is a beautiful 15-carat emerald cut diamond designed by Avianne & Co," Ciara's rep says. This will be the first marriage for both Ciara and Future, who began dating a year ago. The couple confirmed their courtship in January, and by springtime, the musicians got each other's initials tattooed on their ring fingers. (E! Online)
