Chidi Lloyd's lawyer, Emenike Ebete said that by failing to charge him to court or grant him bail, the police are violating Lloyd's human rights.
"My worry is that there could be some foul play between that day and today," said Ebete.
"Whatever investigation they're doing ought to have been concluded. All the witnesses have given their statements to the police, so they've had ample opportunity to do whatever they want to do.
"My worry is that they will begin to play their usual pranks they do play because being a political matter, they do things that are not supposed to be done.
"As we speak now, that young man is being held illegally."
Lloyd is said to be in good health and his family has been allowed to see him.
